Two years ago, we were proud to start PhycoHealth, products based on seaweed, founded in science. Ours was the first Australian seaweed farm for food in the clean oceans of South East Australia. Here, we produce healthy food and snacks to facilitate your chosen way of life definitively. PhycoDerm Organic Seaweed for Skin and Body - What are They about?
Not only does seaweed contain beneficial elements to improve your gut health, but they also include unique and functional molecules for skin care. This science is still new, but we already know that PhycoDerm extracts include rhamnose and glucuronic acid and peptides.
- Rhamnose is a naturally occurring deoxy sugar. We're guessing that, as you read this, you're shaking your head in disbelief. They can't have discovered sugar that is good for you! Yet, according to a study, this sugar can help aid new blood vessel formation which is crucial for wound healing. Another study shows that cell cultures treated with - among others - rhamnose produce fewer ageing by-products, making it an anti-wrinkle agent.
- Glucuronic acid is a building block, made naturally by the liver. However, you may know it better as a fermentation product in Kombucha tea. Among others, it works by binding to toxic molecules and carrying them out of the body. Last but not least, it's a precursor of healthy vitamin C.
