How to use

How to Use Shield

Cleanse: Wash your face to remove impurities and pollutants. For optimal results, try our Cleanse seaweed wash for gentle but effective cleansing.

Moisturise lightly: Apply Soothe for a burst of skin-plumping moisture, followed by Nourish moisturiser for hydration.

Protect: Place a small amount of Shield on your hands, rub together to spread evenly, and then gently press your palms over your face and neck. Allow a few minutes for Shield to fully absorb; it will leave your skin protected without greasiness.

This unique formulation is ideal for daily use and suitable for all ages, from babies' delicate skin to everyday protection for the face, neck, and even the scalp.

I Like This Product But Don't Love It

I like this product but don't love it. What I do love is it has literally no fragrance and this is important for me as I am very sensitive to scents. I like that it dries quickly but too quickly so is difficult to spread. With combination menopause skin that has flaky areas, the white zinc in this product shows up in these areas. I do LOVE my other skincare products from Phycohealth which I have been using for about 3 weeks and am noticing continued improvements I.e, my flaky areas are decreasing.

Shield is actually designed as a protective layer—a sunscreen and pollution shield—rather than a typical moisturiser. Its formula, based on natural mineral zinc (not chemical filters), can feel a bit different on the skin. It works best when applied sparingly: just a small amount is enough, and it should absorb nicely after a couple of minutes.

Here’s our recommended method for using Shield to get the best results:
Start with a clean face (using our Cleanse, if you have it, is great for gently removing pollutants).
Apply Soothe for a layer of lightweight, skin-plumping moisture.
If you have drier areas, add Nourish or another moisturiser to those spots.
Finally, apply a thin layer of Shield. Rub a small amount between your hands to spread it out, then gently press your palms across your face, neck, and any areas exposed to the sun.
If you’re looking for a more traditional moisturiser, Nourish might be a better fit—it’s rich, hydrating, and blends in smoothly.

shield day cream

I find this too thick to use as a day cream, but I am happy to use when out in the full sun and trust the SPF is doing what it is designed to be doing..protection
